Bringing the Music Back to the Street

Much of the music that became known as Early Electric Blues was born outside of concert halls and recording studios. It developed in neighborhoods, on street corners, in storefronts, and wherever people gathered to listen. These performances are inspired by that tradition.
 

Playing in public creates a different kind of musical conversation. There are no rehearsed audiences or elaborate productions—only the music, the environment, and the people who happen to stop and listen. Every performance is unique, shaped by the moment and the interaction between the musicians and those passing by.
 

These videos capture that spirit while exploring the dynamics, timing, space, and understated approach that define the music of 1937–1953. Whether performed as a solo, duo, or trio, the goal remains the same: to present the music honestly, respectfully, and in a way that reflects the character of the original recordings.
